Users who have installed LoginCode 1.3.0 on Windows Vista may be not able to upgrade or uninstall the program

We have been informed by several users that they cannot upgrade LoginCode 1.3.0 because the setup process stops on a message saying that previous version of LoginCode is still running, even when it is actually closed. The image below shows the message which apparently never disappears.

After researching the issue, we've found that the problem affects users running Windows Vista with UAC enabled who have installed LoginCode version 1.3.0. In fact, the Uninstall and Repair options are also broken the same way.

Solution for the problem

If you are facing this problem, please uninstall LoginCode using administrator privileges. To do it as quickly as possible, please follow the instructions specified below. Then you can download and install the latest LoginCode release which is free of above problem.

• Save on your computer LoginCode 1.3.0 removal batch file (53 bytes). This file simply does what you do when you uninstall any program using "Add/Remove programs" utility. If you cannot download that file due to security reasons, please create a batch file (a file with .bat extension) in any location on your disk and put in it the following command:

   

  msiexec.exe /x {75011774-4F01-4DC7-B76A-4027FA816E74}

   

  msiexec.exe is a tool from Microsoft which is resposible for installation of any software utilizing Windows Installer technology. /x switch commands the installer to remove the product from computer and the trailing part {75...74} is a unique identifier of LoginCode 1.3.0 product.

   

• Right click on the saved file and choose Run as administrator. You will be asked for administrator credentials and then the setup program will be launched.
• When setup program finishes, you can install the latest version of LoginCode.
